About Us
Carlson Gracie Old Town is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gym dedicated to providing our students with a gentle martial art combined with a family oriented community.
We are a family-owned gym where our students will be guided through their journey by people that have been walking the same path, finding the same obstacles and looking for the best solutions.
THE
PROGRAMS

Little Ninjas 3-5 years old: We believe early development is very important, that is why we have opened the little ninjas program where we teach the basic skills needed as well a body awareness and must importantly discipline.

Little Bulldogs 7 & up: Either for competition or self-defense; we will prepare our children with highly competitive jiu-jitsu. Our world class instructors will monitor development and education in the art.

Adults: Focused on self-defense and fitness. Our adult program will be as demanding as the student desires. High caliber students and coaches will be the reason you will become an elite Jiu-Jitsu athlete. Ranging from 18 to 60+ years old athletes, we truly believe anyone can learn, train and compete at their own pace. Jiu-Jitsu is for everybody!
ABOUT THE RACE
HURDLING ORIGINATED IN ENGLAND IN THE EARLY 19TH CENTURY, THE RUNNERS RACE OVER A SERIES OF OBSTACLES CALLED HURDLES, WHICH ARE SET A FIXED DISTANCE APART.
RUNNERS MUST REMAIN IN ASSIGNED LANES THROUGHOUT A RACE, AND, ALTHOUGH THEY MAY KNOCK HURDLES DOWN WHILE RUNNING OVER THEM, A RUNNER WHO TRAILS A FOOT OR LEG ALONGSIDE A HURDLE OR KNOCKS IT DOWN WITH A HAND IS DISQUALIFIED. THE FIRST HURDLER TO COMPLETE THE COURSE IS THE WINNER.

Professor Tom Cronin is a Brazilian jiujitsu black belt under Master Carlson Gracie Jr. Tom began training in December 2007 when he was looking for a place to learn the gentle art with his daughter.
After meeting master Carlson, Tom immediately took a liking to his new teacher & appreciated the amazing level of detailed instruction, along with the moral character that Master Gracie conducted himself with. “ A lot of high-ranking people in martial arts like to strut, but Carlson Jr. is always smiling and positive, he’s making people laugh and makes it a point to try and make everyone’s day a little better”
Tom dedicated himself to training and began competing right away, amassing titles in his divisions at every belt level in both gi and nogi competition. He is a black belt master’s world champion & nogi world champion.
